Who We Are:
Born from a shared vision during the pandemic of 2020, a period that sparked many to reassess their paths in life. Kate and Kat were no different, each finding renewed interest in the old traditions and philosophies that offer an active role in personal and spiritual management. The old traditions, lost philosophies and old wives tales with kernels of truth to them. Their journey together began one dark and stormy night, baking cupcakes and watching Disney movies, which led to a transformative moment that deepened their bond and intrigued by what they learned, they found so much to be discovered.
After having these transformative moments, they couldn't help but see others around them did as well. Even though Neo-pagans and witches aren't necessarily having to study in secret anymore in the dark of night, many still don't feel supported enough to be out of the "broom closet". The pair decided to make that safe place for people of all faiths, beliefs and life styles to converse, practice and learn.
Today, The Broom Closet is not just a shop but a vibrant community space. It offers a judgment-free environment for people of all faiths and beliefs to gather, share stories, and learn from each other. Whether patrons are to purchase spiritual tools, participate in workshops, or simply chat about life’s mysteries, Kate and Kat are always ready to listen and guide.
You can find them at trade shows, craft fairs, and local activist gatherings, always eager to engage with the community and spread knowledge about the beneficial aspects of metaphysical practices.
At The Broom Closet, every visitor is invited to explore their spiritual path in a supportive and enriching setting, guided by Kate and Kat’s expertise and passion for what they do.
Why Alexandria?
The lakes area community is a lovely place, full of wonderful people, it's our home- but there seems to be something missing. To bring some spiritual diversity and provide for those who are choosing the path less traveled by- we will clear the way. There is so much potential all around the area that has been left untouched and unexplored. Alexandria has an underserved spiritual community that needs the attention and respect that others of the more mainstream paths are privileged to.
Whether it is a difference in faith or a life path your trying to embrace but don't have a safe space or people to engage with... it can feel isolating and daunting. The Broom Closet is here for you to provide support and community.
